Arsenal transfers: Gunners target Karim Benzema

Arsenal are planning a swoop for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in the January transfer window, according to reports. The Gunners are keen to bolster their front-line after being left with Olivier Giroud, Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo as the only recognised forwards at the club. And talkSPORT is reporting that Benzema has emerged as one of Arsène Wenger’s top targets for the forthcoming January window. However, Arsenal will have to battle against interest from Galatasaray in the France international, with new boss Roberto Mancini keen on bringing the 25-year-old to Turkey. Sources in Turkey claim that Benzema will be Galatasaray’s top transfer priority should reported Chelsea target Burak Yilmaz leaves the club. The north Londoners, who currently top the Premier League table, failed in bids to bring Luis Suárez and Gonzalo Higuaín to The Emirates over the summer.
